PALMETTO DRAG RACERS ASSOCIATION

BI-LAWS

ARTICLE I -Name and purpose

Section 1. THE NAME of this club will be Palmetto Drag Racers Association. It Will be a non-profit organization incorporated under the laws of the State of South Carolina.

Section 2. THE PURPOSE of Palmetto will be:

1. To generate a membership of neighbors and friends to mutually increase the pleasure and popularity of the sport of drag racing.

2. To stimulate and advance the welfare and safety of drag racing

3. To encourage conduct which will promote a positive image of racing

4. To promote favorable public relations through racing safety in cooperation with respective race promoters and sponsors.

Section 3. DEDICATION: Palmetto is dedicated to the position that:

1. We love the sport of drag racing and will try to increase it's popularity

2. As well as drag racing we will try to help families in need when we can.

ARTICLE II-MEMBERSHIP

Section 1. Club membership is open to anyone showing interest in drag racing and fellowship of belonging to a club. The members are defined as either one person at least 8 years of age for junior classes and 16 years of age for other classes.

Section 2. Request for membership shall be made to any officer of the club. membership is upon agreement by applicant to abide by club bi-laws, rules, and payment if the required membership dues. Palmetto will not discriminate for any other reason such as race, color, religion, or any other criteria that would be discriminatory.

Section 3. Membership may be terminated by the action of the officers and committee members for non-payment of dues, safety violations, cheating, or for any starting rumors that will have any effect on our club or it's members.

Section 4 Annual membership will be $20.00 for non- racers and $100.00 if a member wishes to run for club points.

1. Anyone that joins the club points program will generate points from time he or she joins the points program. If you join in June, then your points will begin in June and so on.

2. A driver can drive another and claim points as long as his numbers are on the car.

3. No one can get someone else to drive his car in his absence and claim points.

4. All club points will run on Saturday with track points, and any other races voted in by the members in the points.
   
   Please note- The Sonny Greer race will be a annual event as long as the club is in existance or till Becky Greer decides otherwise.

Section 5 Voting:

1. Anyone who has paid his or her membership dues will be allowed one vote on club issues.

b) The majority of club members present at any meeting will decide on any and all issues voted on at that meeting so if you want your vote to count, plan to be at the meeting.

2. Only the racers who paid to join the points will be allowed to vote on any issues that concern only the racers, such as how to determine the payouts of the points fund.

ARTICLE III MANAGEMENT

Section 1 Club management shall be composed of the President, Vice-president, Secretary-Treasurer, and four committee members.

Section 2 All officers and committee members will be voted in by a majority of members present at our meeting in November and will serve that office for the next two years. If for any reason the President is not able to continue his position the Vice-President will move into that position and the Vice-President position will be voted on by club members for the remaining of that term of office.

ARTICLE IV-OFFICIAL MEETING

Section 1 Official meeting will be the first Tuesday of each month. A minimum of five members of club management must be present to hold an official meeting.

1. The officers and committee members can meet at their discretion any-time they need to discuss issues to bring to our regular meeting.

2. Any paid member can be present at these meeting but does not have any voting rights during said meeting. Only officers and committee members will be allowed to vote on issues at these special meeting. Nothing will be passed as law until brought before club and voted on by club members.

ARTICLE -V DISSOLUTION

Section 1 If dissolution of Palmetto Drag Racers Association for any reason should occur all outstanding debts, if any, will be paid and all of the remaining funds and assets will be donated to charity.

ARTICLE VI AMENDMENTS

Section 1 These bi-laws must be reviewed by our officers and committee members and amended as deemed appropriate and present any changes to club for a vote at the next club meeting.
