From Quick 8 Outlaws to Top Eliminators, Modified to Junior Dragsters, the Palmetto Drag Racers Association (PDRA) is made up of a group of enthusiastic & hardcore drag racers. There are also non- racers who are members which includes family, friends, or just people who want to be part of a great club. The PDRA, which was established in 2004, began with a handful of members. Now, membership has steadily increased to over 70 members. PDRA is a club which tries to help people in many different ways. This includes promoting drag racing & fellowship to others, and also giving to families that are in need.
PDRA competes at dragstrips in and around the Carolinas such as Darlington Dragway, Midway Dragway, Orangeburg Dragway, Union County Dragway & Carolina Dragway. PDRA competes against other local drag racing clubs such as the Drag Racers Association of Florence (D.R.A.F.) and Southern Drag Racing Association (SDRA).
The PDRA meets on the first Tuesday of every month. Visitors who want to be part of the group that enjoys racing and helping others are welcome to attend. Come join the PDRA. and see what all the fun is about.

PDRA general members meeting is the first Tuesday of every month, 7:00 pm, unless otherwise noted. Meeting locations will be posted prior to each meeting.
The PDRA Sonny Greer Memorial / Quick 8 Outlaws Race is scheduled for 6.12.10 at Darlington Dragway. More details to come.

If you have been racing in the Darlington area for at least 10 years then you should be familiar with another drag strip in the area that most people refer to as Little Darlington. When it closed down about 11 years ago, it was owned and operated by Tommy Hewitt. He ran the track from 1972 until 1999. He started his tenure there renting the track and operating it himself and was sanctioned by the IHRA. He eventually purchased the the property outright, becoming the sole owner.
